Seminar Overview THe seminar will discuss some of the reasons why it is more beneficial to go with a rental company vs. going with a stranger on craigslist or any other online offerings. There will be demos of some of the latest equipment and accessories available for use in the industry and a segment on production tips and tricks. Most importantly we will cover the rental application process and how the discount works. The 2-3 hour seminars are held at our facility in Hollywood and are by appointment only. Please no more than 20 individuals per trip. We can accommodate for multiple day seminars if need be or we can brin he seminar to the classroom. Some of the current tools being utilized in our industry today are: Glidecam We are the only certified and authorized rental, sales and training facility on the West Coast for Glidecam Industries. Glidecams are camera stabilization systems that are one of the leaders in the camera stabilization market. The presentation will give a general overview of the product and what it can do. We offer 1 and 2 day training classes for all Glidecam systems. These classes are by appointment only. Canon EOS 5D Mark II & Canon EOS 7D These are still-photography cameras that can shoot feature film quality footage. This new breed of cameras (referred to as HD-SLR) are the latest trend and the future in the evolution of filmmaking in Hollywood. Movies, music videos and even field news reports are utilizing these cameras. It is an inexpensive way of achieving a very high def quality look. Go on-line and see for yourself. E-Jibs Don’t be afraid to use a Mini-Jib Arm. They are much smaller and more manageable than the larger Jib Arms. Music videos are known for using Mini-Jib arms such as the E-Jib in their productions. If you want to achieve a cinematic look and feel with your camera movements the E-Jib is the way to go. P+S Technik 35mm Lens Adapters These adapters allow film lenses to be mounted onto HD-SLR and digital video cameras which allows the filmmaker to attain the various depths of field a film camera achieves. Now the filmmaker can get short and long focal lengths, (something standard digital camera lenses do not achieve). Glidetrack Camera Dolly System Glidetrack video camera dolly system offers the film maker a quick and easy way to add the “Wow Factor” to their shoot. Glidetrack offers silky smooth tracking camera shots that look just like the big Hollywood productions, but without any of the hassles and constraints of traditional camera tracking & dolly systems. They are easier to use in small spaces and tight corners as well as longer tracking shots. Get everything from low angle floor mounted tracking shots to table top tracking shots to medium to high angle tracking shots (by using the twin tripods that can be attached for varying heights). In Conclusion We have found over the years that by starting these students off right on the business side of filmmaking, offering industry expert advice and providing on-site equipment training builds a good rapport between the student and the company.
